    Iguana Adoptions: Foster Parents Needed!!

There is nothing more rewarding to a animal lover than taking a unloved, sick or abused/neglected animal, nurturing it back to health and then placing it in a new, loving home. This is particularly the case with green iguanas. Unfortunately, due to the specific needs of iguanas, they are frequently neglected - either intentionally or by ignorance. As a foster parent, you will have the chance to take that iguana and use your knowledge and love to return it to a healthy state.

As we often get iguanas with a variety of problems (health problems or problems with taming/socialization), we must make sure our foster parents have basic iguana knowledge. While experience in iguana care isn’t mandatory in order to foster (we can teach you basic iguana care), it is certainly helpful. Please take a moment to answer the questions below. It will give us an idea of your knowledge base and what type of iguana is best suited to you rehab. Thank you very much for your interest!

We understand that fostering is a big responsibility, and it is not for everyone. If you choose NOT to foster, you can still make a big difference through education and fundraising!

Also, consider making a donation to NCIRA through PayPal. All donations we receive go toward housing, supplies, food and vet bills for our foster iguanas. Any amount you can donate helps; please use the button in the green area below to make a donation. Thank you for your support!

Current Projects: Petition for Pet Store Accountability for the Care and Keeping of Green Iguanas. Pet stores frequently give out grossly inaccurate information to customers who purchase green iguanas. The goal of our petition is to create a law which requires pet stores to not only keep their iguanas for sale in healthy conditions, but to give correct information regarding their care to the people who buy their iguanas.
